Sierra Leonean FIFA Council Member and CAF Executive Committee Member, Isha Johansen, has again hit the biggest stage of football elitism at the 2023 FIFA’S THE BEST PLAYER Awards ceremony held in London last night. The global female football administrator Isha Johansen, along with Nigerian female football icon Perpetua Nkwocha, was honoured to have presented the coveted award of THE BEST FIFA WOMEN’S GOALKEEPER to English goalkeeper, Mary Earps.

Isha storms the stage with her dazzling gorgeous dress with a majestic walk of a superwoman, carrying the award trophy in front of the elites in global football. Isha presented the award to Mary Earps, congratulating her with hugs and smiles, after she was pronounced the winner by Perpetua Nkwocha. The two African female football icons were ushered on stage by co-host, French football legend, Thierry Henry.

After an engaging week of organising Africa’s biggest football tournament, Madam Johansen has to travel to the UK after the 2023 AFCON opening ceremony in Abidjan, Côte D’Ivoire.

Isha Johansen with African legends

As an Exco of both FIFA and CAF, Isha Johansen is ever ready to respond to calls to duty. She’s been representing FIFA and CAF across the globe over the years. Forming a part of the amazing female award presenters last night was a show of honour and appreciation for her global reach and her dedication to the growth of the game across the world.

From becoming the first female FA President in Sierra Leone and the second in Africa, to becoming a CAF Executive Committee Member, to becoming a FIFA Council Member and the FIFA Board Member – the first and only Sierra Leonean to achieve these heights in football governance. It’s a true reflection of her leadership and service.
