PRESS RELEASE

Freetown | 21st December, 2021

SIERRA LEONE ALL STARS DEMANDS FAIR TREATMENT AND JUSTICE FOR ALHAJI AMADU BAH aka LAJ/KING BOSS LA

On Friday 17th December, 2021 at around 1:O’clock in the morning King Boss LAJ was on his way home when he was confronted by a truck of Sierra Leone Police officers demanding they take him to the nearest police station, he asked on what grounds but he was told “there’s warrant of arrest for him for an unknown reason(s)”.

LAJ then asked to be taken to the American Embassy instead because the incident took place close to the Embassy and since they’re unsure of the crime he had committed to warrant the said warrant of arrest/declared wanted, or for him to contact members of his Legal Team the Police Officers denied him both requests and he was violently and forcefully taken to the police station at the back of the American Embassy regardless of him putting NO RESISTANCE.

Some members of ALL STARS were fast enough to get there in time, upon arrival we asked on what grounds he was arrested but this question was never answered and they insisted that we all moved to the Lumley Police Station.

Upon arrival at Lumley Police Station we asked the same question on what grounds was he arrested, this question wasn’t answered and we were told their bosses at CID Headquarters will be the best to answer the said question. At about 4:am we were told they need to take him to the CID Headquarters we followed them to the said place.

It is in great pain and disbelieve that in a democratic society We have not been allowed to see him neither his family members for five (5) days now.

The Sierra Leone All Stars condemns this act and seek fair treatment for our friend/colleague LAJ.

It’s unconstitutional and it is against his human right to keep him in police detention without no charges against him and at the sametime denied access to see him.

We want the public to note that food and water from LAJ’s family has been denied by the Sierra Leone Police neither access to see him has been granted.

The public should also take notice that police invitation was never extended to him rather they issued Warrant of Arrest against him which we saw only on Social Media few hours before he was arrested.

In the circumstance we are asking the Sierra Leone Police for fair treatment and access to our colleague/friend. While calling on the Human Rights Commission and other human rights bodies to take note of the conduct of the Sierra Leone Police towards LAJ and the Entertainment industry by extension.

Sierra Leone All Stars
