Isha Johansen – from ‘Forbes Top Women in Sports’ to be listed on two African magazines’ Top Influential Women in Football

FIFA Council Member and CAF Executive Committee Member Isha Johansen has been listed in two African magazines as Top Influential Women in Sports.

On International Women’s Day, the African Shapers listed the former Sierra Leone FA President and founder of FC Johansen (Madam Isha Johansen) in the ‘40 Influential Women Football Executives in Africa‘ in 2024,

While the Africa Sports Venture Group also listed her in its ‘50 Influential Women in Their Respective fields in Africa‘.

Isha’s rise to prominence as a global football administrator was long predicted and captured by major institutions across the world.

In 2017, Forbes Magazine listed the then SLFA President as 1 of 12 ‘Women in Sports To Watch in 2017‘ in the world. Isha Johansen and former FIFA General Secretary Fatma Samoura were the only two African women named in that Forbes list.

We have witnessed an incredible leap in Isha’s growth to becoming a global icon. From becoming the first Sierra Leonean woman to own a premier league club in Sierra Leone to becoming the first Sierra Leonean female FA President to becoming the first female ever to be into the CAF Executive Committee to becoming the first Sierra Leonean, and she’s the only female representing Africa at FIFA Council, and the only African at the FIFA Foundation Borad. Her journey is an inspiring one to many people across the world.

She is a recipient of several major international awards, recognitions, and honours across the world. Isha wines and dines with the crème de la crème in sports, business, leadership, and all walks of life across the globe. Her latest recognition by the two African magazines is a complement of her outstanding achievements as an African.
