Adekunle Gold’s latest track – ‘Something Different’, has hit West Africa in less than 24 hours

Nigeria’s nightlife singer songwriter, stage performer, recording artist and graphic designer, Omoba Adekunle Kosoko popularly known by his stage name as Adekunle Gold has released a classic song titled ‘Something Different’. The song is now available on major streaming platforms and has reached the corners of West Africa in less than 24 hours.

Afrobeat record with the infusion of pop sounds with strings, produced by Blaise. It’s coming after the huge success of his 2020 debut “Jore” featuring Kizz Daniel which is still buzzing and disturbing charts.

‘Something Different’ has an addictive Afrobeat sound like that of Wizkid’s Joro sampled on Diamond Platnumz’s ‘Jeje‘. This one is quiet different and special because of the additional Trumpets and Saxophones.

Adekunle started his music career in 2010. During an interview, he describes his genre of music as “urban highlife”. His 2014 hit single “Sade” received massive airplay on various Nigerian radio stations and made him a celebrity in Nigeria. His follow-up single, titled “Orente”, also received positive reviews from music critics. In 2015, he was nominated for Most Promising Act of the Year at the 2015 City People Entertainment Awards. His 2014 hit single “Sade” was nominated for Best Song of the Year at The Headies Awards in 2015.

Adekunle Gold has released several hit singles which include Sade, Temptation, Orente, Pick Up, No Forget, Ariwo Ko, Friend Zone, Nurse Alabere, Ready, My Life, Nurse Alabere, Work, Beautiful Night, Fight For You, Sweet Me, Paradise, Call on me, Only Girl, Money, Ire, amongst others.
