Meet Valentine Mak King, CEO of Kings Empire

Valentine Mak King is an accomplished Sierra Leonean business executive and a resourceful personality. He is a household name in the Sierra Leone business and entertainment sectors.

Valentine was born and raised in Freetown, where he spent his early childhood, attended school, started a music and movie career, etc.

In 1999, Valentine started a career in music, singing along with Spat B and others – producing popular hit songs together. He went on to do music collaborations with top artists like the Legendary Pupa Baja, Black Snoop, Kellyhans, Boss LAJ, and more.

After a couple of years in doing music, Val entered the movie industry as an actor in 2015. His acting skills and prowess took his places and attracted several interests, including awards as Best Actor in Sierra Leone.

Valentine went on to act along with top Nollywood actors like Van Vicker, Gentle Jack, Frank Artus, and several more.

His passion to promote Sierra Leone entertainment and creative industry led him to establish Kings Empire, a leading entertainment company and a conglomerate of several other businesses.

As the Chief Executive Officer of the King’s Empire, Mak runs a hotel (Kings Empire Hotel), the King’s Empire Entertainment, which recently staged the first edition of the House of Stars reality TV show which brought together several stars and celebrities across the country and the globe to an enticing and thrilling show.
He also runs King’s Empire Printing, Mining, Transportation, and Fishing Boats. With his companies and businesses, Mak has employed over one hundred and fifty (150) Sierra Leoneans, including contracted and other casual/support staff.

As a result-driven business executive, Valentine Mak King has empowered and continues to empower hundreds of people. These efforts are all part of his desire to making business and Sierra Leone better. His numerous investments and expected profitability go directly into the Sierra Leone market, which in turn greatly helps to boost and improve the country’s economy.

The King’s Empire Hotel also boost tourism by providing an exquisite accommodation for both Sierra Leoneans and foreign nationals, where they have the pleasure to enjoy the beauty of the Atlantic Ocean from the hotel’s lobby. This greatly helps to build Sierra Leone’s touristic potentials as hospitality and comfortability are key in attracting tourists.

In the entertainment sector, Mak runs a music company where talents are groomed and nurtured. This helps to better capacitate them and to see them realize their fullest potentials. His music label has produced music talents over the years.

In transportation, Mak has provided commercial vehicles, tricycles, and motorbikes to a good number of youths. This is a move to cut down on the country’s unemployment gap. The same goes for his fishing boats and his mining activities. Many have been employed.

In essence, the entrepreneurial urge of Mak has placed him a class above competitors and with his desire to empower young people, his impact in society and the good works he’s doing are not shrouded in secrecy.

In entertainment and show-biz, Mak is one of the shareholders/sponsors of the Big Sister realty TV show where women are trained and empowered to become people of societal relevance.

As CEO of House of Stars, Val has brought about unhindered transformation in Sierra Leone’s entertainment industry. He has created a niche for himself, the entertainment industry, and thousands of Sierra Leonean entertainers.

Mak also supports the annual National Social Awards (NSA) in Sierra Leone and the Freetown Zonal Festival (FZF). As a result of Mak’s desire to give back to communities and people, he donated over two hundred (200) solar powered street lights to communities in Freetown. This was all part of the electrification drive of government.

Mak is also the owner of a CD Printing Factory in Freetown, the only available option in the Mano River Union (MRU). This greatly helps in the mass production of CDs, especially for the music industry.

Valentine’s goodwill is visible in many quarters as a humanitarian and a leading philanthropist who also supports the less privileged in society.
