Kao Denero puts African rappers in danger with his ‘KENYATTA’ diss track on Khaligraph Jones

As the battle for the African rap supremacy intensifies, Amara Denis Turay aka Kao Denero enters the ring with a classic diss track on Khaligraph Jones, Blaqbonez, Vector and other top African rappers in what he titled – ‘KENYATTA.’ In his flawless flows, Kao wasted no time in defining the Kenyan OG with deadly barz and punchlines. The track is currently the most talked about thing among hip hop fans in Sierra Leone and other parts of Africa.

This came after Khaligraph engaged in lyrical contest with Blaqbonez after bagging the Best Hip Hop Award in the Sound City MVP awards in Nigeria. The African rap supremacy contest was however proliferated by Nigerian rapper M.I Abaga in his ‘Martell Cypher 2’, inviting a battle with his country rappers like Vector, Blaqbonez, and the Ghanaian rapper, Joe at each other with the Cameroonian rapper – Jovi. The battle goes beyond borders, with rappers from other countries proving their mights. Shadow Boxxer was the first Sierra Leonean rapper to jump into the pool with his ‘M.I Was’ diss track. He spat some venomous jibes but M.I Abaga retreated to his locker.

In what appears as a fierce reaction that has the potential to open more pandora box in the African hip hop arena is the latest response from Kao Denero. The reigning King of Sierra Leone is proving to be a giant on the mic with lethal vibes. The Black Leo CEO appears to defend his throne from wannabe rappers, “Nobody touches the throne till maybe I’m gone.” Kao also noted that he came from a small nation of about 7 million people, therefore he might not gets the likes and views, ”…but lyrically, you can’t stand me.”

Kenyan rapper, Khaligraph Jones

Will Khaligraph and other rappers respond to this fiasco? Well, any path they choose is unsafe coz Kao said, “… respond at your own risk.” This line alone has put other rappers in danger at the moment. Should they decide to respond, Kao has promised to release another punisher soon, “…I probably drop another one before you hit the studio,” anticipated to be crude and more deadly. He made a follow-up post Facebook that he will drop another track in 24hrs. On the other hand, should they decide to not respond, it will be seen as weakness and conceding defeat by their fans, and hence Kao Denero will reign as the King of Rap in Africa and carries the crown.

The rapper has graduated from the ‘school of hard knocks’, crushing all rappers that have stood his way in his home country, Sierra Leone. A battle tested and a celebrated rapper in West Africa.

Since Shadow Boxxer shut it down 2 months ago, M.I and others have been in hiding, failing to come out and defend their lyrical prowess. Will they continue to be in hiding?

African hip hop is once again brought to the limelight. Hip hop fans are curiously waiting for the other rappers to respond to Kao.
