Leading Sierra Leonean folksinger and activist Fantacee Wiz Kamara has been arrested on Monday afternoon in Freetown for ‘undisclosed reasons’ and was being held in custody at the CID in Freetown amidst her deteriorating health conditions, according to a family source. This media can not verify the claims on social media purportedly relating to her arrest.

A family source told Vertex Media that their family lawyer asked that the reasons for Fantacee’s arrest should remain confidential at the moment —

“From a family perspective, Fanta was arrested for allegations that our family lawyer has asked me not to speak on. However, she was released due to critical medical issues and is currently admitted at the hospital. She is expected to turn in herself once treatment is completed.”
