At an event held at the label’s new complex at 42 College Road at Goderich, Freetown, the Hejenah Entertainment record label unveiled its state of the art music studios and complex on the 22nd December 2020. The occasion was graced by galaxy of superstars and high personalities from the entertainment industry and corporate institutions in Sierra Leone.

In their opening remarks, the two founders of Hejenah Entertainment label, Quanmalo Tejan Kella and Joseph Sedu Koroma aka Nashito Kulala, shared their experiences and narrated the story that led to the establishment of the label in 2013. Despite coming from diverse fields of study, both founders were driven by the passion and love for Salone music.

The label started off with ace singer and performer Rahim De Wezard, with a later inclusion of another female singer Sugar Lulu. With what appears as a cooling off period, the label was inactive, Rahim’s initial deal was reported brought to an end. Hejenah Entertainment decided to regroup in a much more professional manner, with better investments. It first started with the signing of a young and talented music group – Triple T, before the announcement of a contract with sensational Afro pop and RnB singer Rahim De Wezard.

The grand opening of the Hejenah Entertainment studios and complex was a classic event in the midst of amazing performances from Triple T and Rahim De Wezard, plus a guest performance from Drizilik. Live performance was backed up by the Freetown Uncut Band.

A tour of the fully equipped studios and fascinating complex climaxed the unveiling ceremony.

“From the amount resources invested by Hejenah Entertainment, it is quite certain that the label is poised to create huge impacts in the music sector in the country,” so remarked a prominent radio and TV personality Ambassador Mohamed Basiru Sanusi popularly known as Bash. Similar remarks were made by the astute and longest serving entertainment TV presenter of SLBC TV, Mohamed King Milan Bangura.
