Vertex Media has released the official Salone Top 10 Songs for February 2020. This is the second chart in 2020. 10 songs are published from a huge number of songs assessed and evaluated. Their assessment is based on popularity, airplay online and offline, among others. The final top 10 songs are compiled by www.vertexmedia.sl in collaboration with key DJs across Sierra Leone, and the chart focuses on 100% Sierra Leonean songs.

▪1. 🎼 DENGE N POSE by Morris

Finally, Morris’ ‘Denge N Pose’ has finally taken over the space as the most played song in Sierra Leone in February 2020. The song maintains a steady growth over the past months. It is quite irresistible tune. With a classic video and good rhythm and lyrics, ‘Denge N Pose’ keeps growing wild. It is a song you can’t skip on your playlist coz Morris has invested his extraordinary talent on it. The song still rocks among the best. ‘Denge N Pose’ on top of the chart.

▪2. 🎼 KENYATTA by Kao Denero

The rap song (KENYATTA) became a mega hit in Sierra Leone and beyond since it was released in mid January by legendary rapper Kao Denero. It became the most talked about song online and offline. KENYATTA has taken the second position in the February chart after leading the January 2020 chart for the first time after accumulating the highest points. The song has had dozens of artists who jumped in its latest ‘Challenge’. The highest any Sierra Leonean song has got in a challenge.

▪3. 🎼 FIRE DANCER by YOK 7 x Teni

‘Fire Dancer’ is blazing trail to the top of the chart. The afro pop/rap song keeps blazing around. Two African giants on it, Sierra Leonean rapper YOK 7 and the Nigerian afrobeat Teni, hammered this song in 2019. ‘Fire Dancer’ is still popular in the early 2020 and it’s highly rated in the February chart.

▪4. 🎼 AROUND YA by Star Zee

The dancehall crooner (Around Ya) remains a major hit since it was released in the late 2019. The song enters 2020 with series of ‘challenges’ on the original cover by several artists in Sierra Leone and in the diaspora. It was a bang in February 2020.

▪5. 🎼 PRAY FOR ME by Innocent

After topping the 2019 Salone Top 50 Songs on the Vertex Music Charts, there are no signs of this song fading out anytime soon. ‘Pray For Me’ is a still a popular song in the streets across Sierra Leone and beyond in February 2020.

▪6. 🎼 BAKA BAD by Supa Saa x Muzayman x Rhyme K x JD Camel

This dancehall crooner has been on fire and still grooving in the pubs, clubs and streets in Sierra Leone. Having a top dancehall reggae artist like Supa Saa, plus the talented acts featured in it, made the song a mega hit. It is a lovely bad tune. ‘Waka Bad’ has successful made it debut to the February 2020 chart.

▪7. 🎼 DIS NET by Arkman x Boss LA

It is still a hit across Sierra Leone. This afrobeat song maintains consistency and steady growth in airplays, online growth and street plays across the country. The two heavyweights, Arkman and Boss LA did justice to this banger when they recorded it in the late 2019, and it is still around making noise.

▪8. 🎼 ENJOY GBET by Rich Blink x Boss LA x Arkman

‘Enjoy Gbet’ is still trending. The afro-dancehall screamer has got the clubs and pubs blinking and blazing. Rich Blink might not be that popular artist but he has an amazing talent. And that could be seen in his late 2019 song (Enjoy Gbet) featuring Boss LA and Arkman. The Fame Entertainment star is one of the finest singers around.

▪9. 🎼 WHY ME YONE DIFFERENT by M2

Straight outta Queens Music came an afro dancehall song by the Queen of SL music, M2. The song was released in 2019 but still hitting the waves across the country. It took 13th position in the 2019 Salone Top 50 Songs by Vertex Media. The song has received more airplay in February ahead of her February 15th album release at the Hotel 5/10 in Freetown.

▪10. 🎼 GONE FOR GOOD Cover by Markmuday x Simi

‘Gone For Good Cover’ has entered the February 2020 chart after the sensational afropop RnB artist Markmuday finally got to meet with the Nigerian pop and soul singer Simi in Freetown. The cover was probably recorded by Muday without Simi’s knowledge, but it has became a legit when Simi came to Sierra Leone for a concert in Freetown and performed the song together. It was a popular song in February 2020.
