SLAAM Awards 2024 – Meet the winners of the 9th edition of SLAAM

The prestigious and most consistent Sierra Leonean award company SLAAM has produced amazing new winners on Friday night during its awards ceremony in the United States.

The 9th edition of the Sierra Leone Association of Artists and Musicians (SLAAM) Awards 2024 was held at the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel in Maryland, USA, in a grand ceremony graced by prominent Sierra Leoneans from all walks of life.

SLAAM 2024 celebrates outstanding Sierra Leoneans in the fields of music, film, sports, fashion, comedy, etc. Prior to the awards ceremony, the public voted for their favourite nominees from a mouthwatering list of nominees compiled by the organisers.

Giileh Kebbie Scholz, the CEO and founder of SLAAM, hails the process and the outcome of this year’s winners list to have reflected the views of the public with thorough voting and background research done by the voting panel.

  21. Best Social Media Influencer – King Tommy
  22. Best Book Writer – David Moinina Sengeh (Radical Inclusion)
  23. Best Comedian – Mammy Thomas
  24. Best Sports Personality – Ibrahim B. Sesay (Vidic) – Bai Bureh Warriors FC
  25. Best Foreign Movie – The Break-up
  26. Best Sierra Leone Director – Malvin Success Kanteh (In Our City)
  27. Best Sierra Leonean DOP – Idriss Josancy Missai (Delivery Van)
  28. Best Sierra Leone Lead Actress – Thelma Samantha Godwin (The Scuffle)

However, there were other recipients in the categories of Lifetime Achievement Awards. Distinguish Sierra Leoneans were honoured for their longstanding contributions to society.
