Fifa Council Member and former SLFA President, Isha Johansen has celebrated her birthday by donating hampers (containing baby items) to new born babies on December 25 at the Princess Christian Maternal Hospital (PCMH), and a cash token to enable the female inmates of the Female Correctional Center (at Special Court) to celebrate Christmas with joy.

Isha Johansen was born on December 25 (Christmas Day) at the Princess Christian Maternal Hospital (PCMH) (Cottage Hospital), Fourah Bay Road in Freetown. To mark her natal day, she therefore decided to donate hampers containing baby items, including food stuffs, to new born babies on December 25. This has become an annual practice for the global football administrator.

This humanitarian gesture was well appreciated by the recipients (mothers) and the medical staff.

The Medical Superintendent of PCMH, Dr. Janneh expresses delights and appreciations for the thoughtful gesture done by Madam Isha Johansen to put smiles on the faces of the newly delivered mothers on Christmas Day. Stating that Madam Johansen is ‘one of the few Sierra Leoneans giving back to their communities’.

At the Female Correctional Center in Freetown, Madam Isha also donated a huge cash support to female prisoners to facilitate their Christmas Day celebration. The inmates happily received the gifts and sang a birthday song for their friend, Isha Johansen.

Johansen has been a regular visitor to the Female Correctional Center over the years, supporting them in the areas of skills training, welfare and legal representation, in collaboration with her colleagues in football, using football as a tool for change.

The Fifa Council Member couldn’t have celebrated her birthday better than thinking of her birthday mates (newborns) and female prisoners on Christmas Day.
