The former SLFA President and Fifa Council Member Isha Johansen recently paid a courtesy call on the US Ambassador to Sierra Leone David Reimer.

The primary purpose being to re-engage as many international institutions and communities in Sierra Leone using the positive power of football as a tool for empowerment and social change.

Johansen, founder of premier league side FC Johansen, built a football club twenty years ago on the theme of โ€œEmbracing Humanity Through Football.โ€ Throughout her tenure of office as FA President of the Sierra Leone Football Federation, Johansen facilitated partnership with various international institutions like the British Council, UNICEF, The Arsenal FC Youth Community, The English FA, The English Premier League, Hull City Football Club, and others.

Recently, a Fifa/CAF collaboration (Football For Reform) pioneered by Isha Johansen and Fifa Secretary General Fatma Samoura was launched at the Freetown Womenโ€™s Correctional Centre where a tailoring and skills workshop was unveiled. Sewing machines and a trainer from one of Senegalโ€™s leading African couture founder. The Senegalese trainer, Mamadou Fall is expected to arrive in Freetown this month.

CAF is also expected to commence its first coaching and refereeing courses for the Womenโ€™s Correctional Centre this month.

In 2018, Isha Johansen was The First Elected Female to sit as a member of the CAF Executive Board.
