The Kings Empire group has distributed assorted food items to needy and homeless people in the Freetown municipality. This incredible gesture took place over the weekend (Sunday), a day after Sierra Leonean voted in the June 24th general elections.

The CEO of Kings Empire, Valentine Mak King, aka Val King, noted that his company motive to distribute food stuff was borne out the sympathy and empathy for many Sierra Leoneans who couldn’t afford to their daily meal, especially when market places were closed during the electioneering periods.

“We are not politicians, we are doing this out of passion and the need to help the less privileged in society,” he said. Adding that, “In moments like this, we have to think about the ordinary Sierra Leonean who struggles on a daily basis for his or her survival. Many people cannot afford their daily meals.”

Several households, targeting over 100 benefiaries, benefited from this humanitarian move. The distributed food items could amount to NLe 35,000. Our society needs such people and institutions that think about the needy and less privileged. It is worthy for other Sierra Leoneans to emulate the kind work of Kings Empire.
