The President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Madam Isha Johansen has been elected to the FIFA Executive Council in Rabat, Morocco. Madam Johansen beat former Burundi’s Council Member at FIFA, Madam Lydia Nsekera for the coveted role at FIFA at the CAF General Assembly meeting in Morocco, on the 12th March 2021.
Madam Isha Johansen is the first Sierra Leonean to attain such peak at world football stage, and she has also been serving as CAF Executive Member since 2017.
Meanwhile, South African Billionaire Patrice Motsepe was also elected (unopposed) as the 7th President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The occasion was witnessed by global football personalities, including the FIFA President, Gianni Infantino.
The news of the resounding victory of Madam Isha Johansen was received amidst jubilations across Sierra Leone and beyond, as she continues to fly the Sierra Leone flag in global football.
