FC Johansen are back to winnings after thumping Kenema’s Kamboi Eagles FC by a convincing 3-0 scoreline in Makeni. All thanks to a brilliant hat-trick from Santhawahaj Bangura, popularly known as Messi, a newly signed prolific winger from Diamond Stars Football Club.

He opened the scoreline in the 8th minute, striking twice in the second half (in the 74th & 79th minutes) to seal a huge team victory and a hat-trick in his bag, his first in the league.

Santhawahaj expresses delights over the victory and links it to ‘team work and commitment’. Adding that “the winning is remarkable for him and the team.”

Johansen started the second leg campaign of the Sierra Leone Premier League with 3 consecutive draws, before earning their first victory (1-0) against Freetown City FC on March 5. Today’s victory against Eagles is a clear signal that FC Johansen are now taking their rightful place in the league, as strong contenders.

In the first leg of the league, FC Johansen also defeated Kamboi Eagles in Bo. Which means, they have now collected all six (6) points against the Eastern giants.

Johansen’s Head Coach Ibrahim Sillah also expressed his satisfaction over his boys performance in their last two matches, as he looks forward to maintain the good spirit in the Johansen camp in the remaining fixtures.

Johansen have now moved to 6th position on the table with 34 points after 22 matches played, 1 point above Kamboi Eagles who have now played 23 matches.
