The first set of FC Johansen founding players, who were part of the original ‘Dream-Chasers’ squad, reunited in Freetown with the club founder, Madam Isha Johansen, after 19 years.
A cross section of the ex-players, mainly composed of those trading their professional football careers and businesses in the United States and those in Sierra Leone, met with the FIFA Council Member and Founder of FC Johansen, Madam Isha Johansen at the Country Lodge Hotel, Hill Station in Freetown over the weekend.
During the meeting, the ex-Johansen players recounted their journey with the club at tender ages (ages 9, 10 & 11), when they were picked up by Isha Johansen, and gave them the opportunity to explore their potential. Taking them to international competitions in Europe, America and other parts of the world, between the period of 2004 to 2010.
The former players expressed interest and readiness to be fully involved in promoting the activities of FC Johansen, their childhood football club.
Making her statement, Madam Isha Johansen expressed her delights in meeting with her boys after a long time. She noted that the reunion will reawaken the spirit of the club’s mantra – ‘Chasing The Dream’, especially with the rich history around the club and its founding players.
Madam Johansen further reiterated that FC Johansen have one of the most incredible stories in global football. A story that has been carried by major media outlets across the world. She also aligned her trajectory in global football governance as a result of her passion for and the establishment of FC Johansen.

~ Emanuel Koroma – a right-back now playing for Cesena FC, in the UPSL, the United States of America
~ Larry Sawyer – an attacking midfielder now playing for MD Bobcats FC, in the United States
~ Osman Conteh – retired and doing business in the United States
~ Kelfala Marah aka Kelf – retired and now living in the United States
~ Aboubakarr Bah aka Buba – retired, and now serving as Acting Head Coach of FC Johansen
~ Alpha Koroma aka DJ B – retired and now engaged in entertainment
~ Ayo Webber – Former FC Johansen Coach, retired and now works in Sierra Leone
~ Aboubakarr Antony Sesay aka Antonito – retired and now doing business in Freetown;
…and several others.
