Sierra Leone grabs a point against Senegal in opening match

In the opening match of the WAFU U-20 Championship today at the Stade Lat- Dior De Thies in Senegal, Sierra Leone’s National U-20 (Shooting Stars) held their Senegalese counterpart to a 1-1 draw.

Shooting Stars’ Striker Abu Kommeh deflowered the tournament by scoring a goal from a Scrambling opportunity at the 55th Minute after a stunning performance by his side, putting Sierra Leone in the lead for only 12 minutes before Samba Diallo equalised in the 67th minute..

The match ended (Sierra Leone 1) -(1 Senegal) at full time.

Sierra Leone is expected to play their last match in the group stage against Gambia on the 24th November, 2020, at 4pm at the same venue.

In a group of three, two teams are expected to qualify directly to the semi- final from this stage, and the winner of the tournament will singularly and eventually qualify to play the U-20 Nations Cup in Mauritania next year.
