FC Johansen Foundation kick starts ‘YES SHE CAN’ Gender and Youth Empowerment initiative in girls schools.

The FC Johansen Foundation today embarked on its first visit to girls schools promoting GENDER EMPOWERMENT THROUGH FOOTBALL, called ‘ Yes She Can’.

Officials of FCJ including the CEO Malik Pascal, players, model and former Miss Sierra Leone Aminata Adialin Bangura who is the foundations Project Manager visited the Methodist Girls High School this afternoon.

The theme of the visit was to encourage young girls to use sports and in particular football as a means of ‘changing the narrative’ for women and girls, and also for society as a tool for change.

The former beauty pageant queen presented the Gender Empowerment Jersey to hundreds of excited young girls, speaking of her passion for sports and football and how it influenced her outlook in life. Aminata also referenced the founder of the club, Madam Isha Johansen and her career journey in the world of football which above the odds and challenges has groomed her into currently becoming one of the most globally celebrated female football administrators today.

The CEO of FC Johansen Malik, together with some of the players presented the FC Johansen jerseys to the head girl, headmistress and deputy head girl.

The tour will continue with celebrity music artists Markmuday and Skills who are FCJ Ambassadors expected to join the tours.
