Last week, two outstanding Sierra Leoneans were hired to perform at a private event in Lagos, Nigeria. One of them is Sierra Leone most celebrated DJ, Ibrahim Kalokoh otherwise known as DJ Kallox, who was hired as the official DJ for a wedding anniversary and renewal of vows of a Nigerian business mogul Gibson Erhunmwunse and wife Mary Erhunmwunse. DJ Kallox was also joined by a UK based Sierra Leonean artiste, known as Black Fire, who jetted from the UK as the only foreign Artist hired to perform in such an event in Nigeria.

This grand event took place on Friday 7th January 2022 at the Oriental Hotel 3, Lekki Road, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.

Black Fire took the stage with stellar performances to the admiration of the special audience, the higher class of Lagos City. Kallox as the official DJ was reportedly paid an appearance fee of $2,000 for the night, making him the first Sierra Leone DJ to be paid such a fee for an international event.

Many entertainers saw this move as a big boost to the Sierra Leone entertainment industry, as it struggles for international recognition and breakthrough.
