Two new hospitals opened in the East of Freetown by Alex Kamara, brother to female musician – M2

Sierra Leonean entrepreneur and philanthropist Alex A.K Kamara has today (2nd January 2022) opened two new hospitals (Amta Hospital) in Kissy, eastern part of Freetown, Sierra Leone. The first hospital is located in the hilly suburbs of Quarry, back of Benz Garage, Black Hall road Kissy – and the second one is located around PWD, Black Hall road Kissy, all in the East of Freetown.

According to proprietor Alex Kamara, the two hospitals contain almost 100 beds and equipped with modern medical equipments and qualified medical staff.

He further highlighted that the Amta Hospital will offer a medical insurance scheme (Amta Health Scheme) at a cost of Le 1 million per year. It will also offer MRI scan and DNA testing facilities which will be available in two months time, X-ray machines, CT scan, lab equipments, Ultrasound, Endoscopy, good diagnostic tools.

The hospitals are equipped with laboratories, theatres, labour rooms, wards, among others. Alex Kamara also assured that the hospitals have reliable water and electricity supply to keep it running.

The Amta Hospital is well resourced with qualified staff, totalling over 50 personnel.

Apart from the hospitals, he is also running a medical college located at PWD Kissy, that trains medical practitioners, and he also operate a 40 bedroom hotel or hostel for students and the general public.

Alex Kamara is the elder brother of a popular Sierra Leonean female singer, M2.

The opening ceremonies were well graced by Community residents and other stakeholders.
