Sierra Leone U-17 Arrives Safely in Guinea for Pre MRI test

Sierra Leoneโ€™s National U-17 team has arrived safely in the capital City of Guinea- Conakry to complete the pre-MRI test before departing for the West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Zone A U17 AFCON Qualifiers to be hosted in Senegal.

Twenty-four players and eleven officials made the journey to Guinea by road. The players have completed their MRI test today and the results will be made available to the delegation on Wednesday 3rd February 2021.

Sierra Leone under-17 team will flee Guinea for Senegal on Wednesday 3th February 2021 to participate in the WAFU U-17 competition which will kickstart on Friday 5th February 2021, in Senegal- Thies

Six Nations (Senegal, Mali, Mauritania, Guinea-Bissau, Gambia, and Sierra Leone) within West Africa Zone A will partake in the tournament.

Sierra Leone is drawn in group B alongside Guinea-Bissau and Mali, Sierra Leone will play their first match on Friday the 5th February against Guinee Bissau at Stade Lat Dior, Thiรฉs at 17:00 Gmt.

Sierra Leone lost the right to host the WAFU U-17 tournament to Senegal because of Covid-19 and the curfew announced by the government to help curtail the spread of the coronavirus.

Raymond Samuel Lewis is the head coach of Sierra-Stars and the head of the delegation for the WAFU under-17 is Harold Nat-Johnson member of the Sierra Leone Football Association Executive Committee.
