Sahr Morris Jr becomes SWASAL President, after victory over Konneh


The Sports Writers Association Sierra Leone (SWASAL) has just elected a vibrant young sports Journalist, Sahr Morris Jr, today 29th May 2021 at the Atlantic Hall, Brookfields, Freetown. Morris succeeds the outgoing President of SWASAL, Frank Cole, in a resounding victory against his opponent, Mohamed Konneh, another seasoned sports reporting vet.

The Association displays maturity and professionalism in the conduct of the electioneering. Most members believes in Morris’ agility and experience to give a facelift to the Association.

In his Thank You message, acknowledged the progress made by the previous regime and hopes to build on it together.

“I believe we can build on the progress we have made and continue to explore new grounds with new opportunities and breaking barriers.”

Morris is armed with longstanding experience in local and international sports reporting, including his coverage on major sporting tournaments the FIFA World Cup Finals, the All African Games, et al. His election to the presidency of SWASAL speaks volume of his achievements and resourcefulness.
