Leone Stars set for August 2021 friendlies against D.R Congo, Nigeria, Congo Brazzaville and Ethiopia

The Vice President 1 of the Sierra Leone Football Association Mr. Harold Nat-Johnson has today Wednesday August 11 announced to the Technical Team and players of Leone Stars that the SLFA in consultation with the National Sports Authority has confirmed arrangements to participate in the 2nd DR. Congo International Football Tournament in Kinshasa lasting from August 22-25 and a friendly match against Ethiopia on the August 28 this year.

Other participating countries in the proposed D.R. Congo tourney include; Nigeria, D. R. Congo and Congo Brazzaville.

Mr. Nat-Johnson, who provides technical oversight on all National Teams made this announcement during a supervisory visit at the Leone Stars training camp, at the Bo Rangers Club House in Bo. He also made the same disclosure to the technical team at the Kenema Town Field a few hours earlier.

The Vice President also encouraged the players to continue putting up good behavior as they continue with preparations ahead of the biggest football festival in Africa. He added that the TotalEnergies AFCON 2021 should be the main focus for all players in the training camp “to ensure good representation in Cameroon next year”.

He pledged the “unwavering support” of the President and Executive Committee of the Sierra Leone Football Association towards the players and the technical team throughout the preparation period.

Mr. Nat-Johnson ended by thanking the the newly appointed Team Manager Mr. Babadi Kamara for his “peerless efforts and contribution in the transformation of the National A Team”. ”You have added so much value and respect around the team which clearly signals that your appointment was never a mistake”. He added.
