Next Movie Star 2020 Winner – Umu Barrie is set for a movie deal in the United States

Umu Kultumy Barrie is set to travel to the United States next year for her movie contract which was part of her prizes for winning the 2020 Next Movie Star (NMS) reality TV show.

Umu won the show in 2020 with a star cash prize of 50 Million Leones, plus a movie contract with Prime International Production (PIP). She also won several other tasks and prizes in the NMS house. The cash prize was however presented to Umu, but her movie contract was put on hold due to the covid restrictions and other circumstances.

Umu Barrie has already enrolled for a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the Cyprus International University, North Cyprus, which runs from 2020 to 2024.

Umu will be traveling to the U.S in the Winter of 2023 (June to September), during her holiday period. She will play a lead role in the movie titled ‘THE DANCING QUEEN’, starring Winstina Taylor and others.

The CEO of Prime International Production – Winstina Taylor expressed her commitment over the weekend to ensure that the Umu pending movie deal is actualized. As a strong partner and sponsor of the NMS show, her company will continue to support young acts in Sierra Leone.

The CEO and Founder of Next Movie Star – Mohamed J. Sessy Kamara said that his company and partner (PIP) will fulfill their promise of the said movie contract in the United States as promised during the show. He also mentioned that there are pending announcements to be made in relation to the next edition of the Next Movie Star reality TV show, the first reality TV show in Sierra Leone.
