SLFA to transform the Kenema City Field with artificial turf, floodlights and a perimeter fence

SLFA ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL PROJECT BOOST FOR KENEMA CITY FIELD

The Sierra Leone Football Association in collaboration with the National Sports Authority today in a Press Conference held at the Albertson Multi Purpose Conference Hall in Kenema Launched two key additional projects- The Installation of Floodlights and the Installation of Perimeter Fence to raise the standard of the Kenema City Field.

The President of SLFA Madam Isha Johansen made this pronouncement in the presence of the Executive Director of the National Sports Authority Dr. Kenneth Brima, the Kenema City Mayor His Worship Thomas Baio, Regional Commander East AIG Thomas Lahai, The Chairman of the Kenema District Football Association Dennis Ngotho Lansanah and sports journalists.

The press conference held primarily for the purpose of clarification over widespread and misleading information about the termination of the FIFA/SLFA Artificial Turf Project in Kenema City was an opportunity for the FA to make this official disclosure public. Madam Johansen congratulated the people of Kenema District and urged them to embrace their project with pride and ownership, adding that “what we (SLFA) do, we do for all and not for one. The success of this project is the success for Sierra Leone and Sierra Leoneans.”

The Executive Director of NSA Dr. Kenneth Brima in his keynote address applauded the leadership of the Sierra Leone Football Association for their relentless efforts in the development of football, with particular reference to efforts made so far in transforming the Kenema City Field to a standard playing ground.
