Sierra Leone’s artist Rap Gee releases ‘Justice for Kadija’, a campaign song against rape

One of Sierra Leone’s hit maker and dancehall great, Rap Gee has led the campaign against rape in solidarity with the ‘Justice for Kadija’ campaign. The Upline Nation CEO is the first artist to release a song in the recent alleged rape incident that led to the death of 5 years old Kadija Madinatu Saccoh. The message-packed song is titles ‘Justice for Kadija’.

On Saturday 20th June 2020, news broke out on social media that the death of the young girl was as a result of rape, after an autopsy was carried out on her corpse. Sierra Leoneans all over the world are protesting and calling for justice for the death of young Kadija. Many celebrities have already informed the public of a peaceful protest to be held in the central part of Freetown.

However, Rap Gee has become the first Sierra Leonean artist to release a from on the ongoing campaign against rape and the ‘Justice for Khadija’ campaign, in collaboration with Sierra Leone’s professional footballer Mohamed Buya Turay.

In the song, the dancehall artist warned against sexual assault against women especially young girls. He also propagates the concept of ‘Hands Off Our Girls’ ‘Teenage Pregnancy’, Early Marriage’ and more.

The song is now available on major streaming platforms, and it was timely released to address this crisis at a time the entire nation is crying for justice for the young girl and the perpetrators be prosecuted.
