Sierra Leone defender David Sesay signs for National League side Wealdstone FC

Leone Stars and former Barnet FC centre-back David Deen Sesay has joined National League rival, Wealdstone FC. Earlier today, Barnet FC announced that David’s contract couldn’t be extended and the player has departed the club on mutual grounds.

In less than 24, a new contract was announced by rival club – Wealdstone FC, in the same National League in England.

Below is the club’s statement:

“Wealdstone have signed Sierra Leone international full-back David Sesay on a free transfer from National League rivals Barnet.”

“The full-back joined the Bees on an initial one-month rolling contract in the summer and joins the Stones following the expiration of that deal. He made six appearances for them this season and made the Vanarama Team of the Week following their 1-1 draw with Eastleigh in September.”

“A product of the Watford Academy system, Sesay began his professional career at Crawley Town where he made 70 appearances in three seasons before joining Barnet this summer.”

“The 23 year-old earned his first call-up to Sierra Leone last month, making his debut in a 1-1 draw with South Sudan.”

“We welcome David to the Stones! He will wear the number 11 shirt and goes straight into Saturday’s squad to face Stockport County.”
