Infinitum Energy and Zebek Media Group on conducted-tour to Freetown dumpsites

Infinitum Energy Group conducted a tour with an international media team – Zebek Media Group, to the biggest dumpsites in Freetown City recently.

Journalists from Zebek Media conducted an exclusive interview with the Country Manager of Infinitum Energy Group, Yassin Kargbo, while exploring the company’s enviable energy project of providing 38 megawatts to Freetown and its environs. Infinitum Energy will be generating energy by transforming wastes to energy.

**Yassin Kargbo taking interviews from Zebek Media**

The said project has been identified as the best energy project for Freetown, especially considering the prevailing challenges the city faces in managing its wastes. With the Infinitum Energy project, the issue of waste collection, management, and disposal will no longer be a challenge, as the company is poised to collect wastes for onward use to providing sustainable energy.

Zebek Media, in their wisdom, decided to fact-check and visited the two prominent dumpsites in Freetown, namely, the Kingtom and Bomeh (Kissy) Dumpsites.

The two journalists from Zebek, Nicolas and Andrew, filmed a documentary, coupled with interviews from Yassin Kargbo and other stakeholders and benefiaries.

Yassin explained the importance of the project, with particular reference to the cleaning of the city (by getting rid of wastes), job creation, and empowering the SMEs. He also mentioned that his company will support community development through its corporate social responsibility, running to over $3 million.

A community leader at the dumpsite in Kissy noted that the implementation of the energy project will cushion the effects of hazards faced by young people who usually scavenge these dumpsites. He further stated that it will devise a new livelihood for them through support from Infinitum Energy Group.

Zebek Media Group, as an international media, was impressed with the intended energy project in Sierra Leone by Infinitum Energy Group, which is now in the advanced stage of stakeholders engagement.
