Sierra Leone entertainers have united to host a fundraising concert to save their colleague, popular female singer Vida Green, who has been ill since last year. Vida’s deteriorating condition came to the limelight in December last year after she was diagnosed with intestinal obstruction.

Many entertainers stage a campaign to raise the sum of $10,000 for her surgery, through mobile money, Go-Fund Me, etc.

However, the intervention of the First Lady of Sierra Leone Madam Fatima Bio, who vowed to cover her medical bills, was seen as a relief for the veteran singer, Vida. Fast forward, she was again reported to be in a critical condition, requiring another treatment abroad.

This second surge of Vida’s health condition brought many entertainers together, including Boss LA, Ellen Keister, Fantacee Wiz, Colabo, Zainab Sheriff, Camouflage, Prezo Koroma and many others, to raise a total of $20,000 for her treatment abroad.

Among the many other options of raising the funds, organizing a fundraising concert (‘Oneness Fundraising Concert’) on her behalf was key. Immediate or emergency funds can still be raised through mobile money, online transfer system and cash in hand to Prezo Koroma and Ellen Keister. Many entertainers have already donated some good amount of money, which will soon be handed over to the family of Vida, while they awaits the outcome of the proposed concert on Pray Day (Eid-ul Fitri), probably on the 1st or 2nd May 2022 at the Paradise Garden Lumley Beach Road, Aberdeen Freetown.

Further details about the fundraising activities and the proposed concert will be provided in due course.
