Johansen joins global luminaries in celebrating the life of late football legend – Pele

As the world mourns the death of the world’s greatest football Legend, Fifa Council Member Isha Johansen joins the luminaries of who’s who in global football to send condolence messages to the family of the late football Legend Pele.

Edson Arantes do Nascimento, globally known as Pelé, passed away at 82 years, at the Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo on Thursday 29th December 2022, following a long battle with cancer.

The Brazilian professional footballer was the only player in history to win three World Cups, and he’s highly regarded as the world’s greatest player to ever grace the game.

His death attracted outpouring tributes from great football icons, celebrities, administrators, etc, including the current Fifa Council Member Isha Johansen –

Both Isha and Pele have met at several football functions across the world, and the two (football legend Pele and Madam Isha Johansen) have shared memories of their interactions. She consoles the family of the late Brazilian striker while celebrating his contributions to the beauty of the game. Isha and Kely Nascimento-Deluca, Pele’s eldest daughter, recently met in Qatar.

Johansen and Madam Nascimento met during the Fifa World Cup in Qatar, where they were both invited guests to speak to over 400 youths about ‘breaking barriers’ and ‘changing the narrative’ as women in football. Since then the two have been working on ideas of future collaboration.

Madam Nacimento is the CEO of the Nacimento Foundation and a Global speaker, Ambassador and Promoter of Equality for Women in Football.
