Maiden edition of the ‘Top Model of the World Sierra Leone’ pageant launched at Radisson Blu Hotel

Tyls Production & Company has launched the first edition of the ‘TOP MODEL OF THE WORLD SIERRA LEONE’ at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Aberdeen, Freetown, on Friday 17th December 2021. This means Sierra Leone have now secured the franchise of the popular global pageant through Tyls Production & Company, owned by a Sierra Leonean top model – Tyrillia Gouldson. Top Model of the World has been in existence for over 10 years since it was founded. For the first time, Sierra Leone will be represented in the 2022 TOP MODEL OF THE WORLD for both male and female contestants.

Ms Gouldson announced that the auditions of the Top Model of the World Sierra Leone pageant will take place on the 15th January 2022, and the finals will take place on the 5th February 2022 at the Family Kingdom in Aberdeen, Freetown. Application forms are now available across the country at the cost of Le 100,000 for potential contestants, for both male and female. They can be obtained at Family Kingdom and Tyls Production & Company at Lumley Beach Road, Aberdeen and at Youyi Building Brookfield Freetown.

The star prize for the maiden edition of the TOP MODEL OF THE WORLD SIERRA LEONE is a whopping 50 million Leones.

Applications are expected from all Districts in Sierra Leone.

According to Tyrillia Gouldson, the pageant seeks to attract innovative young Sierra Leoneans between age 18 and 26, who will display talents and be able to promote Sierra Leone culture and attract investment. She further explained that all applicants will go through series of trainings and mentoring. The best performing applicants will be selected for the finals, but every participant will be certified after the training.

“Our focus is on promoting our cultural heritage and innovations,” she says.

Tyrillia Gouldson represented Sierra Leone at the 2008 Miss World and at the 2009 Top Model of the World, and she has been a top model ever since. She has also groomed and nurtured several models and fashionistas in Sierra Leone and beyond.
