Africa’s heavyweight and Nigerian born global artiste BURNA BOY will visit the West African nation of Sierra Leone for the first time in a live musical concert. The songwriter, singer and performer – DAMINI EBUNOLUWA OGULU, popular by his stage name BURNA BOY, will perform at the Siaka Stevens Stadium in Freetown on the 8th January 2022. The multi BET and Grammy award winning artiste was scheduled to perform in Freetown in April last year but the event was disrupted due to the outbreak of the COVID-19. The organizers, 1Africa 1Vision have confirmed that BURNA BOY will perform in Freetown on a rescheduled date, in the ‘Year of The Return’ show early next year.

BURNA BOY needs no introduction in the African music scenes, as his last two albums have toppled the continent and the world at large. His African Giant and Twice As Tall albums remain the most streamed African albums, which have brought him laurels, awards and recognition across the world.

BURNA BOY’S album, TWICE AS TALL received the 2021 Grammy Award for “Best Global Music Album,” after making history as the first Nigerian artiste to receive back-to-back nominations in the category following 2019’s Grammy Award-nominated ‘African Giant’ for Best Album. He has also won the BET Award on 3 consecutive years – 2019, 2020 & 2021 for Best International Act. He has an endless list of awards won across the world.

This megastar is all set to bless his Sierra Leonean fans with stellar performances in the Year of The Return concert in Freetown, on January 8.
