Afro pop star and online host Joseph Amos Bangura, popularly known as Mos-B, has received his award trophy from the Global Music Award Africa (GMAA), from Ghana, for Best Humanitarian Artist 2021. This trophy was delivered to the artiste in France through DHL in the presence of music fans.
The multi award winning star is now among few Sierra Leoneans to have won major international awards across the world.
Mos-B was the first global musician to release an awareness song (‘War Against Corona’) shortly after the COVID-19 outbreak in China. This song attracted huge media interests from major media outlets like the BBC. A major reason he was nominated in several awards, and eventually won the Best Humanitarian Artist of the Year in the Global Music Award Africa.
He was highly honoured in Ghana, where his music was used in the award’s opening ceremony that was aired on 4 major TV stations in Ghana and across Africa.
International Mos-B, as he is fondly called, was excited to have finally receive his long awaited trophy, and he feels inspired to do more.
“We have been fighting to fly the Sierra Leone flag high. I’m very grateful for this award.”

Mos-B has just hosted the second edition of the ‘Sing 4 Africa’ virtual festival, a platform he developed to showcase and promote African music, culture and talents. This events also attracts performances form across the African continent.
His football club, Mos B United has just been approved and affiliated by SLFA and WAFA. This great club will be grooming 34 young footballers for national growth. This makes Mos B the first Sierra Leonean artiste to own a football club, with a motto – ‘Football and Music, WE MUST BE UNITED.’ The team will participate in their first tournament in December this year, alongside the proposed MOS B SALONE TOUR.
