The classical Greek Philosopher, Plato once said that “Necessity is the mother of invention.” An adage that connotes the nexus between challenges and solutions. From the past to the present day, humans are crippling with daily challenges. Among these challenges is the need to have an appreciable form of payment for products or services.

The payment system and mode of payment have evolved since man was created. From the barter system of payment, to banknotes/coins to cheques. Overtime, there’s a need to digitalize payments – creating a convenient, prompt and secured method of payment. Hence the introduction of credit cards facility and mobile money, which allow for the transfer of money and payments to be done within the pathways of a particular platform. For instance, with mobile money, you can send and receive money from customers of the same mobile company, but it’s difficult to do so to a customer of another network.

It’s always a challenge to pay for goods and services through digital means. A business owner will find it difficult to accept payments from diverse payment systems.

But with the introduction of Monime, digital payment has been made simple, convenient and secured. This new generation payment system has integrated the existing payment systems into one system called Monime. With Monime, a user can now make payments from any sources (like AfriMoney, Orange Money, credit card or bank account) with a single and acceptable interface.

This new cutting edge payment system was officially launched to the public on Friday, February 10, 2023 at the Monime head office, at 5 Hillside Bypass Road, Freetown, Sierra Leone. This auspicious occasion was well graced by partners, businesses, members of the public and the media.
