The leading mobile money service provider in Sierra Leone, Orange Money, has officially launched the new digitised means of paying for gas/fuel at every Conex Fuel station across Sierra Leone. It was launched at the Conex Head Office at its Brookfields Station in Freetown on Friday, the 18th August 2023.

Pay With Orange Money at Conex Station‘ is the latest payment system introduced by Orange Money to make payment for fuel at all Conex Stations in Sierra Leone so seamless and easy for all Orange Money customers. With this new service, it’s needles to walk around with cash to pay for fuel.

David Mansaray, CEO of Orange Money Sierra Leone, was excited about the partnership with Conex while expressing his company’s goal of achieving financial digitization by making Sierra Leone a cashless society, reserving physical cash for extreme situations only.

Mr. Mansaray emphasised the safety and security aspects of this service. He envisioned extending Conex’s sales hours beyond 9pm, exclusively accepting Orange Money payment to minimize night-time cash handling risks.

Avrajit Kar, CEO of Conex, emphasized the partnership’s significance in digitizing Sierra Leone, highlighting the convenience and transparency of using Orange Money for payments at Conex.

The service can be used on both smartphones and local phones, according to Abibatu Baxter, Head of Marketing Partnership and Strategy for Orange Money. Smartphone users would download the Orange Money App and scan the QR code at any Conex Station, while local phone users could dial #144# and select option 4 to make payments. The service is user-friendly and convenient.
