FIFA’s Isha Johansen presents the Adidas Silver Boot award to Japan’s Maika Hemano in the Women’s U-20 World Cup in Costa Rica

The Fifa Womenโ€™s U-20 World Cup 2022 draws to an end with Spain beating Japan 3-1 at the Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica, San Jose City โ€“ amidst Japanโ€™s astounding performance in the tournament. Japan’s striker Maika Hemano scooped the Addidas Golden Ball and the Adidas Silver Boot, for the Player of The Tournament and Second Highest Goal-scorer, respectively.

FIFA Council Member Madam Isha Johansen was honoured with the presentation of the Adidas Silver Boot to Japan’s Maika Hemano, in a glamorous and ecstatic fashion.

Isha Johansen on a nine day tour in Central America visited the Costa Rica Federation and Honduras Federation together with FIFA’s General Secretary – Fatma Samoura and other high-powered Fifa officials to inspect the Fifa Forward construction projects by the Federations and engaged in discussions about their respective Federations development football projects.

Johansen also met and briefly chatted with the Head of State of Costa Rica, President RODRIGO CHAVES ROBLES. Other notable distinguished guests Johansen exchanged views with were the Second Vice President of Costa Rica, who also doubles as Sports Minister, and the President of the Federation, Rodolfo Villalobos.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino flew into Costa Rico to witness the Finals of a very successful Fifa Womens World Cup tournament, with a stadium turnout of twenty nine thousand spectators.
