Infinitum Energy Group holds School Essay Competition on ‘Impact of Waste to Energy in Communities’

A global clean energy company – Infinitum Energy Group (iEg) has recently organized a School Essay Competition on the ‘Impact of Waste to Energy in Communities’. This essay competition targeted 7 secondary schools across Freetown.

The participating schools include Regent Square Sec School, Freetown Secondary School for Girls (FSSG), Methodist Girls High School, Murray Town Army School, Government Model Secondary School, Foundation Secondary School at Hastings.

Before the essay competition, the energy Group made a tour to 10 schools where they engaged them about waste management in their communities. These school tours and engagements gave the participants a clear knowledge about waste management and the work of Infinitum Energy Group, which is the transformation of waste to energy.

The pupils learned that through waste to energy, their communities can be safe from diseases and it can also provide job opportunities for the people employed to collect wastes across the city.

Princess Alberta Sesay from Freetown Secondary School for Girls took the 1st position with a prize of $150; the 1st runner-up Theresa C. Pessima from from Regent Square School was awarded a prize of $100; while the 2nd runner-up Mohamed S. Koroma was awarded $50.

The essay competition was graced by the CEO of Infinitum Energy Group – Lindsay Nagle and the Country Manager of Infinitum Energy Group in Sierra Leone Yassin Kargbo, who both distributed certificates to the various participants.
