Statement from SLeDU President – DJ Lawva, on the arrest of his Secretary – Prezo Koroma

The President of the Sierra Leone DJs Union (SLeDU) – Samuel Leverse aka DJ Lawva has released an immediate statement calling for calm among their membership following the arbitrary arrest and detention of the Union’s Secretary General Ibrahim Koroma, aka Prezo Koroma, alongside other entertainers this afternoon in Freetown. Koroma was reportedly arrested by the police while they were seeking for reasons or details behind the detention of popular rapper Boss LAJ and others. It was further reported that Prezo was arrested this afternoon at the court premises together with LAJ’s brother Rappish, sister, and music friend Rahim. Details about their arrests are not clear.

From this background, the SLeDU President has released a statement for one of his affected executive member in the spate of arrests:

“As President of thehe Sierra Leone Djs Union, I just learnt that our Secretary General of the union Ibrahim Koromo (PREZO KOROMA) has been detained by Police.”
“Details of his detention is unclear and for that that reason I have instructed the media team and few executive members to get a clear understanding of his detention.”
“Whiles we as a Union investigates for clarification, we would like to inform our membership at large to stay calm whiles we get first hand information with regards his detention.”
“In not too long our Media Team will issue a Press statement on behalf of the union upon our investigation of his (Ibrahim Koroma – Prezo Koroma) detention.”
“Meanwhile we call the general public to pay keen attention to unfolding stories but yet wait for official confirmed sources before making assertions on the issue at hand..”
