SLNFRO elect Sanusie Rashid as Referees President in their first Delegates Conference in Makeni

MAKENI CITY HOST SLNFRO FIRST-EVER DELEGATES CONFERENCE IN THREE DECADES

The Sierra Leone National Football Referees Organisation on Saturday, September 11th 2021 at the Sierra Leone Teacher’s Union Hall in Makeni City held their first-ever delegates conference after three decades, the conference provided an avenue for members to deliberate on several issues including its transformation from an association to an organisation, the adoption of the North West Region Referees body as a member of the organisation, and as well electing both national and regional executive members for a four years mandate.

Alhaji Sanusie Rashid a current CAF Referee Assessor and Instructor has also served as a FIFA referee for a decade whose nomination went unopposed was declared as the new President of the Sierra Leone National Football Referee Organisation and will be assisted by five regional Vice Presidents, other executive members are;
Franklyn A.F Marrah Secretary-General, Alie Gibril Koroma Social Secretary, Elizabeth French Treasurer, Zainab Agnes Wilson Financial Secretary, and Alhaji Abdul Rahim Sanusi Media and Relations Officer.

The elected President Alhaji Sanusie Rashid described his new task as a result of his hard work over the years to ensuring the progress of the organisation, He furthered that, the welfare of the referees, capacity building training, are all part of his agenda and therefore appealed for collaborative support from the referees across the country and with their supports they will be able to transform the organisation to an enviable profession.

According to the outgoing President, Alhaji M.A Sesay who was also nominated as the Chief Patron of the organisation pointed out the key success under his tenure as the Sierra Leone National Football Referees Organisation was transformed and became functioning. He also pledged to provide his expertise whenever he is been contacted and most especially in his new capacity as Chief Patron of the organisation.

Dr Patrick Coker President National Olympic Committee (NOC) who chaired the first session of the delegates conference stated that the NOC is fully aware of the fact that the Sierra Leone National Football Referees Organisation is a wing of the Sierra Leone Football Association, but assured the organisation of the NOC supports whenever they faced administrative and any other challenges.

Other key stakeholders in the sporting sector like; Dr Patrick Coker President National Olympic Committee and Dr Abdul Rahman Swaray Deputy Executive Director of the National Sports Authority (NSA) were appointed as honorary members of the organization.
