The latest album to hit the online streaming stores is Daniel Bangura’s sensational masterpiece titles – ‘THE GUY FROM SIERRA LEONE’.
The Sierra Leone’s Gospel singer Daniel Solomon Bangura, commonly referred to as the ‘Pharmacomusician,’ (due to his background as a Pharmacist) is a multi-talented and award winning artist, songwriter, guitarist and a live performer. His proficiency in playing the guitar and his melodic prowess place him among the best performers in the country. He remarkably got his breakthrough with the song titled ‘Sierra Leone Will Rise Again’, after the Ebola epidemic in 2014.
In April this year, Daniel released ‘Streets of Gold’, a single from his latest album, ‘The Guy From Sierra Leone.’
The album is produced by Rwanda’s multi talented musician, producer and engineer, ‘Clement the Guitarist.’
Daniel Bangura is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Global Health Delivery at the University of Global Health Equity in Rwanda. This University trains the next generation of Global Health leaders across the World.
In November 2019, Daniel was asked by the University to perform at the ‘Hamwe Festival’; a global health musical concert, where he shared the stage with the Malian Grammy Award winner Oumou Sangare, Rwandese sensational artist – Shanel and a host of other talented artists. That performance paved the way for the next phase in his music, leading to the recording of a four-track album titles ‘The Guy from Sierra Leone’.
“The album is named as such, because after my performance of the song (The Guy from Sierra Leone), I became popularly known in my university as the ‘Guy from Sierra Leone,’ Daniel explains.
The songs in the album include; ‘The Guy from Sierra Leone’, ‘The Sail’, ‘Streets of Gold’ and ‘Gerageza’ (meaning togetherness – featuring one of Rwanda’s accomplished musician, Mani Martin).
