A Sierra Leonean diaspora, the U.S based Sierra Leonean philanthropist and politician, Seray Kabba, has answered the call of her community in Freetown’s biggest and busiest market, Dove Cut Market, along Guard Street.

Following her recent visit to her home country Sierra Leone, and Dove Cut to be specific, and having seen the poor sanitary condition of the market place, Seray Kabba has seen the need to clean up this community to ensure the good health of the market women, on whose call she responded to.

Madam Kabba brought together dozens of youth over the weekend to clean the Dove Cut Market, an activity that cost her Millions of Leones (Old Leones).

She is the founder and CEO of the Seray Kabba Children Empowerment and the Magazine Pikin Foundation, community based organisations that support women and children in the areas of health, education, etc. Seray Kabba has been involved in several humanitarian gestures in the Dove Cut and Magazine Communities over the years, including supplying school materials to kids, cleaning of drainages, etc.

Madam Kabba has now declared her intention of contesting for the Freetown City Mayor in the 2023 Elections as an Independent Candidate, in order to continue with her development programs and goodwill on a larger scale.

She believes in good sanitation for the City of Freetown and its indigenes. Her usual cleaning activities have now mitigated the flooding challenges the community used to face in the past.

Madam Kabba’s latest cleaning activity was received with resounding applauds and appreciations from the community, especially the market women and youth leaders. The event also attracted huge media coverage.
