Audiofrica, a leading digital streaming platform in Africa, has unveiled 2 upcoming music stars as Brand Ambassadors at their Tengbe Town’s Office premises in Freetown, on Tuesday 12 July 2022.

The newly signed brand ambassadors were scouted from two talents search programs conducted in Newton, Western Area and in Koinadugu District, Northern Region. After a rigorous scrutiny by the Audiofrica/Techfrica Team, Yusifu Sam Bangura, commonly known as ‘Wan Pon Ten’, emerged as the winner in the Newton Community; while Justin Thomas Conteh, aka ‘Jaycool De King Ghod‘, also emerged as the winner for the Koinadugu District.

Both winners were signed as brand ambassadors with a total signing package of Le 30 million (30,000 New Leones) each. The packages include branding and packaging of the artistes, music recording and video production, and a cash token given to the ambassadors.

According to the Director of Operations Alhassan Bangura, the ambassadors will be put on a 3-month salary.

Mr. Bangura also explained that Audiofrica is a sub company under the parent company – Techfrica, an African digital conglomerate owned by Sierra Leonean U.S based ICT expert and entrepreneur Alhassan Hafiz Bakarr Kanu. He furthered that Techfrica specializes in app and website development, graphics design and printing, computer training programs, event management, photoshoot, audio and video production, etc. The company has built many applications for both entertaiment and social networking purposes, including Audiofrica, Lafffrica, Supfrica, and more.

Making his statement, Yusifu Sam Bangura, aka Wan Pon Ten, commends the Techfrica Team ‘‘for their efforts in scouting out raw talents across the country,” as he promised to give his best as an ambassador to the company. Wan Pon Ten is an afro dancehall and rap artist from the Newton Community.

Another ambassador, Justin Thomas Conteh aka Jaycool De King Ghod, also appreciates ‘the opportunity’ given to them by Techfrica, noting that, “Koinadugu and Falaba Districts are the most deprived places in the country in terms of entertaiment and development. There are many untapped talents who do not have the platforms to excel.” He therefore urged Techfrica and others to do more for those (deprived) regions across the country. Jaycool De King Ghod is also an afro rap, reggae and dancehall artiste from Kabala, Koinadugu District.

The President of Techfrica, Abdul Abdul Aziz Koroma of Azazi Music, noted that the ambassadors are expected to produce an EP album, two videos and promotion of the Techfrica brands in their various communities. He also explained that the company has been working with top Sierra Leonean artistes before, who have benefitted from the streaming and other services offered by the company. They still look forward to grow their brand and network with more entertainers in Sierra Leone and beyond.

A tour in the Techfrica Office complex climaxed the ceremony. The complex has a photo studio, audio recording studio, video production unit, an online radio studio and more.
