Tik Tok is the new social media platform that continues to draw the interest of many young people in Sierra Leone. Creative contents have been tending from the platform over the years. Many stars have been made on Tik Tok. It has occupied a huge space in the media landscapes, especially social media.
It is on this note that a Sierra Leonean company, Content Factory Sierra Leone launched the first edition of the SALONE TIK TOK AWARD. This first of it kind award was launched at a press conference held at the Africell American Corner, Bathurst Street, Freetown on Friday 24th December 2021.
The Award was introduced to recognize and appreciate Sierra Leonean contents creators on the Tik Tok platform, according to the organizers. It will help to identify the strength of contents creators and to also showcase one’s creativity.
The occasion brought together popular Sierra Leonean Tiktokers and members of the media.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, one of the organizers and renowned Ami Berry informed the audience that the Award will be free and fair, as the intention is to ensure the global recognition of Salone Tik Tok stars.
Another member of the organizing team Mohamed Janneh alias Professor, a former Housemates Salone star, also reiterates the genuineness and fairness of the award.
Janneh also mentioned that nominees will be rated on followers, quality of contents, creativity and consistency.
This most coveted award (Salone Tik Tok Award) is slated for February 26, 2022, with the theme – ‘Verification SAGA.’
As Sierra Leonean Tiktokers are yet to be verified on the Tik Tok platform, the organizers have vowed to play a role in partnership with other stakeholders to ensure it comes to pass.
