Leone Stars and Shooting Stars brace up for a thrilling friendly match at the Bo City Stadium

As the Sierra Leone national football teams prepare ahead of their forthcoming international competitions, the Senior National Team (LEONE STARS) will engage the National Under-20 (SHOOTING STARS) in a friendly encounter on the 31st October 2020, at the Bo Mini Stadium in Bo City, at 4pm.

Leone Stars continue to prepare ahead of their AFCON Qualifying back-to-back matches against the Super Eagles of Nigeria, in November 2020. They have recently engaged Mauritania and Niger in friendlies encounters as part of their preparations to face Nigeria.

Shooting Stars are also in preparation ahead of the upcoming 2020 WAFU U-20 Championship in Senegal, also scheduled for November 2020. On the 4th November 2020, the Shooting Stars will also host Leone Stars in another friendly encounter at the Siaka Stevens Stadium in Freetown.

Both teams are in high gear for today’s encounter at the Bo Mini Stadium. The Leone Stars Head Coach – John Keister and the Head Coach of Shooting Stars – Abu Bakarr Tostao Kamara are both looking forward to a decent and competitive match as they are poised to successfully represent Sierra Leone on their various international tournaments. Both teams had their final training sessions in the early hours of Friday, 30th October 2020, at the Bo Mini Stadium.

However, the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) in consultation with the Government of Sierra Leone, has decided to play the match behind closed doors in order to observe the COVID-19 precautions measures.
